The Second Harvest explores what a city can gather before it goes to waste. At the Autumn Equinox, the Wayward Plants Reuse Centre at Cultivate Colindale brings together plants, food, timber, clay, objects, seeds and skills that have been overlooked or discarded. Across a day of collecting, making, repairing, exchanging and eating, these resources will be prepared for their next life and returned to the community. More than a traditional harvest festival, the event celebrates the abundance around us and explores how, together, we can give overlooked resources new purpose.

Add your mark to a collective weave with Peel Studio, using surplus yarns and materials alongside leaves, grasses and other elements gathered from the garden.
12:00–15:00 · Make Your Own Mini Solar Panel
Join Energy Garden to build a mini solar panel and explore how community-owned solar energy can create social, environmental and economic value.
12:00–14:00 · Garden Guardians: Clay Workshop
What tiny creatures might be secretly looking after our gardens? Make your own garden guardian from clay, inspired by frogs, snails, fungi and the life hiding amongst the plants.
14:00–17:00 · Making with Rescued Clay
Get your hands on clay excavated from local construction sites and experiment with other waste materials including wood dust, stone dust, coffee grounds, straw and hemp. Create your own tile to take home with Rescued Clay.
14:00–17:00 · Wool Plant Pots
Join UCL’s Bio-ID to make a biodegradable plant pot from waste wool as part of an ongoing experiment exploring circular materials and soil health. Take your pot and plant home and help us see what happens next.
17:00–19:00 · The Second Harvest: Communal Feast
Gather around the table for a seasonal communal meal by Ketchurah, celebrating food, harvest and the simple act of eating together. Free, with a suggested donation.
